HOW ONE PERSON'S STEP OF FAITH CHANGED A LIFE

SETH PARKER'S STORY

I arrived in Minneapolis after a year long mission trip to South Korea. I was looking for a church that I could find a relationship with Christ.

I had very little success with a job search, and had wound up taking a position doing in-home health care. After a training session, the instructor and I had a conversation about teaching English abroad, and she mentioned that her church had an ELL outreach.

When she asked me where I was going, I said I was still looking. She then said that there was a church that met in a school near 35W in Bloomington. This church had "the name of a tree", a very large singles scene and an 11:15 a.m. service on Sunday.

I Googled that criteria and found myself on the Evergreen website. If she hadn't done that as my coworker, I don't know where I would be-- I don't know if I would even be here and be a part of Evergreen.

That was more than three years ago. Since then the website is much easier to find and many people have asked me about things they read on the site about my church.

As God's plan would have it, about six months ago, a similar story played out in front of me. I introduced myself to two familiar faces during the worship, and then again after the service. Since I recognized them, I asked where I knew them from--and to my surprise it was a recording artist from California. He was in town to play Studio C on Cities 97.

When I asked how they'd found Evergreen, they said they'd done an internet search for a church close to the airport and 35W that had a later service.

Whatever prayers are prayed over the ministry on the website, God is listening and working.
