HOW ONE PERSON'S STEP OF FAITH CHANGED A LIFE

TOM GUENTHER 'S STORY

In 1993 a new electrical engineer by the name of Andy Gray started working at our company. He was quite out-going and friendly. He made an effort to get to know as many people as possible. Later he told me his goal was to find out if people had a relationship with Christ as quick as he possibly could.

Andy was always going out of his way to help me. When he was looking for a home he asked me if I knew of any around where I lived. I told him there was one that he might like.

After he bought that home and moved in, we started car pooling to work and eventually started listening to messages from Evergreen as we drove. Andy and Eric Cram started a lunch time men's group in Northfield. We talked mostly about how to have a better marriage—something less threatening than religion. Andy and Laura even watched our children for a week on short notice when our babysitter plans fell through.

After several months of building a relationship with us, Andy and Laura invited us to dinner on a Friday night and to church afterwards. We were a little apprehensive and made sure that we drove ourselves in case we needed to run!

At the service we were so blown away that we brought our children back on Sunday. After several months of attending Evergreen, riding and talking with Andy, and searching God's Word—I made a decision to follow Christ.

Today, not only are my wife and I following Christ, but our children have a relationship with Christ and have believing spouses (or soon-to-be-spouses) also. God has done great things in our lives because of Andy's obedience.

Tom and Kimberly Guenther attend our Lakeville-Evergreen location. Andy Gray now pastors The Urban Refuge location.
