HOW ONE PERSON'S STEP OF FAITH CHANGED MANY LIVES

MICHELLE AND ROB BUSSE'S STORY

At first thought, it seemed like we haven’t had much success with inviting friends to church, but after pondering it a little longer it seems like God has definitely used some of those invitations in people’s lives. Here are a few examples.

Rob's Mother

In 2002 after we were set on Evergreen as our church, we invited my mom to come and check it out. Mike Tipler, the Lakeville worship leader, sang a Huey Lewis song, and she thought it was great. A few weeks later her husband also came. This set the stage for the Gospel to be shared. God used Evergreen as part of bringing them to salvation.

A few friends

We had some other friends that we invited to come to a service. They were young believers that started coming regularly even though they lived about 25 minutes away. They joined small group and enjoyed getting more plugged into the church. Now they have moved even further away, so they are looking for a church like Evergreen in their new area.

Rob's brother

The following year, my brother and his girlfriend came to Evergreen for the first time on Easter. We asked them to come and see Michelle sing--using that as a pivot point for him as he proclaimed himself an atheist in the past. He had recently seen The Passion of the Christ movie and had some questions about it.

The Easter service was all about The Passion of Christ. So many of his questions were answered. He felt like God spoke directly to him that day. After seeing that church didn’t have to be boring, he became more interested. Not long after that he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. His faith recently brought his wife into a relationship with Christ as well.

Friends from Wisconsin

Several friends who have come to visit us from Wisconsin have come to church, and as a result have gone back to their towns and lives reconsidering their faith positions.

Michelle's best friend

Michelle’s best friend from high school was saved shortly after visiting us and Evergreen, which opened up conversation about Christ between the two of them. Her husband later became a believer as well.
