We were into six years or marriage and decided that things were hopeless and we would get divorced. We did not attend church, we didn’t have Christ in out lives at all but he has trying to get our attention.
Cindi moved out, and it was all but done. About that time we received a postcard from Evergreen Church that talked about casual dress, contemporary music and relevant messages on life.
For some reason (God knew why) we decided to attend once and check it out. That first visit we heard the Gospel presented, and I remember repenting and asking Christ to come into my life.
After wiping the tears from my eye’s I looked at Cindi and she was also crying, She had also received Christ. For the next year our eyes were opened to a whole new world. Everything we believed in was turned 180 degrees around and Cindi and I knew that God had different plans for or marriage.
We are now into 17 years of a commitment to each other before Christ. There is always somebody around you that needs the healing power of Christ in their lives. Our story is just one of many at Evergreen that should continually remind us to step out in faith and invite our friend’s and neighbor’s to Evergreen.
Being a good Christian isn’t always enough, God calls us to invite people into the church where He can do the rest.
